Dyson is known for its incredible innovation and desire to improve technology in all areas of life. And, the latest launch from the British brand is pretty lifechanging.
Say hello to the Dyson Corrale, a cordless hair straightener. Yep, it’s cordless!
It took the team at Dyson seven years to develop and perfect the Corrale straightener, which includes brand new flexing plate technology that shapes to gather the hair, apply even heat and tension to all strands.
The device also contains Dyson’s Intelligent Heat Control for precise temperatures and includes a 4-cell lithium-ion battery to allow users a cord-free experience.
According to James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer, the flexing plate means that you can achieve a style with less heat in a shorter amount of time.
“We discovered that if the plates could conform to the precise profile of the tress, then with each pass we could apply the correct tension to all the hair strands,” he said. “This means that we get an enhanced style and without excessive heat damage. We simply do not need the heat that others apply.”
I was lucky enough to have a quick play with the Dyson Corrale last week in a super-secret media preview and it most definitely lives up to the hype.
While the straightener is a little heavier than the average tool (because of the battery pack), it’s extremely comfortable to use and is weighted nicely is your hand. The flexing plate is from made manganese copper and after using it to curl my hair, it left my tresses feeling smooth and silky. The straightener has three heat settings —165°, C185°C and 210°C — which means it works on all hair types from thin to thick and coarse to curly.
The battery has a life of up to 30 minutes, but you can also use the tool when it’s plugged into the 360° charging cable. Because it’s cordless, you can simply pop it into your handbag and take it to the gym for post-workout touch-ups or to style your hair before leaving the office for drinks.
The Dyson Corrale is available in Australia on April 24, 2020, for RRP $699 from the Dyson Demo Store – Beauty Lab and Dyson.com.au.
