Whiskey drinkers are now invited to take a shot for Drake with the news Champagne Papi is finally bringing his whiskey to Australia.

The Virginia Black American Whiskey is a collaboration between the Grammy award-winner and Brent Hocking, founder and creator of the original Deleón tequila. The high-end tipple is a personally selected curation of two, three, and four-year-old whiskeys with a high rye content.

It’s got an ABV of 40% and is described to possess a “decadent profile” of distinctive, yet subtle, flavours that include brown sugar, salted popcorn, glace cherries, caramel, black pepper, toasted marshmallow, hot cinnamon and green apple slices, according to Master of Malt.

Its smooth and complex flavour has been crafted to suit novice whiskey drinkers and aficionados alike — it can be drunk neat, on the rocks or as part of a decadent cocktail.

Aesthetically, the ornate bottle has been designed to evoke the glamour and decadence of ’70s nightlife. It’s been voted in the top 100 spirits by Wine Enthusiast, earning a 91-point rating.

While Virginia Black American Whiskey has previously available in the northern hemisphere only, it’s now finally available in Australia exclusively through Bevmart. A 750ml bottle will set you back $99.99, but with two to five day shipping in metro areas, you could be drinking on the low (just like Drake) by the weekend.
