Musician Andre Romelle Young, a.k.a Dr Dre, is in the ICU after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Reported by TMZ, the music mogul was rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles on Monday.
The 55-year-old is reportedly “lucid” and “stable” however, doctors do not know what caused the bleeding.
Los Angeles Times journalist Richard Winton tweeted, “Dr Dre is in ICU at Cedars in LA after suspected brain aneurysm – developing story,” before later adding: “He is stable and the details aren’t clear.”
Young began his career as a member of the World Class Wreckin’ Cru and rap group N.W.A before going out on his own with a solo album, The Chronic in 1992.
He has worked with Snoop Dogg, Tupac Shakur, Eminem, Devin the Dude, Ice Cube, 50 Cent and more recently, Kendrick Lamar.
Young is currently in the middle of a divorce with his ex-wife, Nicole Young, who is asking for $2 million a month in spousal support.
