Yup: Donald Trump’s in Court
After a moment of peace, calm, serenity, Donald Trump is back in the news. And no, he didn’t hug another American flag. This time, he’s up against 34 criminal fraud charges.
Trump, the 45th President of the United States, is being charged for giving people undisclosed hush money to cover up multiple affairs. The prosecution is arguing that Trump slept with the sex workers Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, paid for their silence, and then claimed that these payments were going to his lawyer.
“Under New York state law, it is a felony to falsify business records with intent to defraud and intent to conceal another crime,” said Manhattan’s District Attorney, Alvin Bragg. “That is exactly what this case is about, 34 false statements made to cover up other crimes.”
“No matter who you are, we cannot and will not normalise serious criminal conduct.”
On April 4, Donald Trump sat in the court to hear his charges read out. He has pleaded not guilty and was released with no bail requirements.
New Zealand Women’s Football Slays
Meanwhile, the New Zealand women’s football team is swapping their classic white shorts for blue ones. What’s more, this is brill news, as this move is meant to ease athletes that experience period anxiety.
As New Zealand’s Striker, Hannah Wilkinson, said, “The absence of white shorts now is fantastic for women with any kind of period anxiety.”
“It’s always something that women athletes, not just footballers, have had to deal with. In the end, it just helps us focus more on performance and shows a recognition and appreciation of women’s health.”

Is Superhero Fatigue Real?
James Gunn, the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, has a spicy take on the state of modern superhero movies.
“I think there is such a thing as superhero fatigue,” said Gunn. “I think it doesn’t have anything to do with superheroes. It has to do with the kind of stories that get to be told.
“I get fatigued by most spectacle films, by the grind of not having an emotionally grounded story. It doesn’t have anything to do with whether they’re superhero movies or not. If you don’t have a story at the base of it, just watching things bash each other, no matter how clever those bashing moments are, no matter how clever the designs and the VFX are, it just gets fatiguing.”
However, the fact that Gunn has this opinion is good for the state of future superhero movies. This is because he’s now the co-CEO of DC Studios and is designing a slate of Warner Brothers films. If Gunn knows that Superman fighting a CGI monster is tiresome, then he’ll probs commission some more ambitious scripts.
Gunn’s final Guardians of the Galaxy flick is currently playing in Aussie theatres. If you want to learn more about it, then click the A+ link right here.
