Your European summer may be off, but Dolce & Gabbana is here to help you do the next best thing to sipping vino with a view of the rolling Tuscan hills. The luxury fashion label has released a rosé called Rosa, and it’s as chic as you’d expect.
The aesthetically pleasing drop is inspired by the island of Sicily, a place close to the fashion house designers’ hearts, as Tatler reports. The 2019 vintage — made in collaboration with local winery Donnafugata — blends two of Sicily’s vines: the Nerello Mascalese and Nocera.
Dolce & Gabbana describe the blend as an “an elegant bouquet of jasmine, enriched with delicate hints of wild strawberry, peach and bergamot”. While one vine, the Nerello Mascalese, provides mineral notes and an earthy undertone for its position atop volcanic soil at Mount Etna, the Nocera vine compliments these flavours with fruity components.
The design house spoke to Tatler of its new wine, saying: “We are Italian, we love to eat and drink a good wine. For us it is like tasting the smells of our land, seeing its colours again and feeling its atmosphere.”
The bold label is another Instagram-worthy component to your new fave drop. With a pale pink base that mirrors the sparkling blush liquid within, the label is adorned with D&G’s signature and mesmerising geometric prints in bright red, royal blue and gold, that are inspired by the iconic Sicilian carts.
“Rosa embodies the atmosphere, tradition and culture of the island,” D&G says of its new wine. Rosa will be available to purchase in June — just in time to virtually transport you to the Italian holiday you pictured for yourself in this time.
