The creators of this show hire a cast of Aussie stars, team them up with a bunch of professional dancers, and film them learning to dance. Some of these stars defy our expectations, others are comically bad, all of them make for excellent television.

In 2024, Dancing With the Stars has one of the best casts of all time. This is because it is starring beloved singers, iconic actors, and everyone in-between.

Adam Dovile is a tradie best known for being charming on Better Homes and Gardens. In this series, Dovile captivates Australia with his infectious enthusiasm and genuine expertise in all things related to construction and design.

Beyond Better Homes and Gardens, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa Lamond, and his two daughters, Arabella and Ruby.

On an Instagram story, Adam confirmed that his Dancing With the Stars partner is a professional dancer named Jessica Raffa. In this story, he referred to her as his “partner in crime.”

As an ex-marine, Ant Middleton is one of the most surprising people to be on this cast list. Since 1998, Ant has served in many UK military departments, including the UK Special Forces, the Royal Marines Commando, and the British Army.

However, Ant is best known for being a Chief Instructor for SAS: Who Dares Wins. On this series, he helped his contestants navigate through a plethora of gruelling army-based tasks.

According to Ant, he is very excited to be on the 2024 season of Dancing With the Stars.

“The secret is out. I’m taking a spin around the Dancing With the Stars dance floor!” Ant said in a statement. “My dance partner, Alexandra Vladimirov, has taken me under her wing to teach me some exciting routines, and I can’t wait to show you all my moves!”

Ben Cousins


Ben Cousins is one of the biggest names in AFL. As a West Coast Eagle, he soared across the field, collecting a Brownlow Medal, a premiership, and etching his name into the history books. However, Ben’s life has also had its devastating downs. Between 2007 and 2017, Ben dealt with substance abuse issues that negatively impacted his family, interpersonal relationships, and career.

According to Ben, he is now in a space where he can compete on Dancing With The Stars.

Hayden Quinn isn’t just your average Aussie chef. Not only is he a MasterChef Australia alumni, he also judged Family Food Fight from 2017 until 2018. Since wrapping up this series, Hayden has become renowned for sharing scrumptious recipes with his Instagram followers.

While Hayden is excited to be on Dancing With the Stars, he’s still unsure of his dancing abilities. 

“Very excited to be dancing alongside Lily Cornish for this year’s Dancing With the Stars,” Hayden said. “Let’s be honest, she has the hardest job right now!”

James Stewart is Australian entertainment royalty. He was Jake Barton on Packed to the Rafters, The Colonel on Tomorrow When the War Began, and even acted in an episode of The Adventures of Skippy. For the last eight years, he has been performing the role of Justin Morgan on Home and Away.

James’ Dancing With the Stars partner is Jorja Rae Freeman. According to James, they can’t wait to show us all the dances they’ve been creating.

When it comes to celebrity chefs, Julie Goodwin is the real thing. In the very first season of MasterChef Australia, she took the country by storm with her down-to-earth charm and delicious home-cooked creations. What’s more, she became the inaugural winner of this much-beloved series. 

Since winning MasterChef Australia, Julia has released an array of excellent cookbooks, co-hosted the radio show Rabbit and Julie Goodwin, and become a mental health advocate.

In a statement, Julie revealed that while she’s finding the Dancing With the Stars grind challenging, she’s also having a blast.

“I can cut an onion, but can I cut a rug? All signs point to no,” Julie said. “But luckily, I have been partnered with the divine Andrey Gorbunov. His patience, kindness, and ability to laugh in the face of adversity might just get me putting my feet in the right place.”

From her role as Constable Maggie Doyle in Blue Heelers to her acclaimed stage presence in The Sound of Music, Lisa McCune is one of Australia’s finest actors. In recent years, Lisa has extended her talents by starring in How to Stay Married, Big Miracles, and The Garden Hustle.

From Lisa’s perspective, the 2024 cast of Dancing With the Stars is beyond stellar. In a statement, she noted how thrilled she is to dance alongside them.

“What a gorgeous bunch to be sharing this dance journey with,” Lisa said. “So much twirling, so many sequins, and a whole lot of glitter! Dancing With the Stars, it’s too darn hot.”

Nadia Bartel is one of Australia’s premier fashion designers and models. She’s best known for creating wardrobe essentials for the clothing brand Henne. 

According to Nadia, the Dancing With the Stars training that she’s receiving is both extremely rewarding and extremely difficult. In a recent interview that she conducted, she detailed what goes into making a Dancing With the Stars routine appear effortless.

“Training is much harder than I thought it would be, and it’s been a bit of a juggle trying to fit it in with my schedule with the boys and work, but I’m loving it,” Nadia said.

“This show is so far out of my wheelhouse, so different to anything I have ever done before, but I feel like these opportunities have to be taken. Life is too short to say no to something like this.”

Nikki Osborne is one of the best comedians that Australia has to offer. In the early 2000s, she was the host of phone-in quiz show Quizmania and starred on the hilarious sketch show The Nation. Sometime later this year, Nikki plans to tour a stand-up show across Australia.

Over the course of her career, Nikki has claimed she can dance. However, now that she’s on Dancing With the Stars, she’s worried that she won’t live up to her claims.

“All these years, my mouth has been writing cheques, let’s hope my ass can cash them!” Nikki said. “My poor, long suffering dance partner is Aric Yegudkin. Wish him luck!”

Nova Peris is an actual trailblazer. In the 1996 Olympic Games, she was the first Aboriginal person to win an Olympic gold medal, as a member of the Hockeyroos. She also competed in the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 2000 Olympic Games as a sprinter. 

What’s more, Nova also served Australia as a member of the Labor Party. In 2013, she became Australia’s first Aboriginal woman elected to our federal parliament. As of 2016, Nova has not been in politics, and she’s currently an Ambassador for the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.

It’s worth noting that Nova is taking her Dancing With the Stars training rather seriously. In an Instagram post, she stated that she’s been training for eight-hour days.

Samantha Jade is a singer who has consistently captured the heartstrings of our nation. Ever since winning X Factor in 2012, she has leapt from strength to strength. Her 2012 single What You’ve Done to Me hit number one on the ARIA Singles Chart, and her 2022 EP, Love Sick, was from start to finish straight fire.

In a statement, Samantha expressed how delighted she is to star in Dancing With the Stars. She also noted she’s very pumped to show her dance routines to her loyal fans.

“So excited to announce that I’m swapping out the recording studio for the dancing studio!!” Samantha said. “Can’t wait for you guys to see what we have been working on.”

Shane Crawford

Last, but not least, we have Shane Crawford. As a player for the Hawthorn Football Club, Shane made his mark on the history books. Thanks to his sporting prowess, he won a Brownlow Medal, a Leigh Matthews Trophy, and the 2008 premiership. In 2012, inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame. 

Since retiring from football in 2008, Shane has had a stellar media career. He was a cast member of 2011’s Celebrity Apprentice and a presenter for 2020’s season of Australian Ninja Warrior.

According to Shane, he’s going to dance on Dancing With the Stars like nobody’s watching. We can’t wait to learn if this strategy will help him or hinder him. 

If you want to watch Dancing With the Stars Australia 2024, it will be airing on Channel 7 and streaming on 7 Plus. As of writing, Dancing With the Stars doesn’t have a release date. But we’ll let you know when this info hits our calendars.
