Dancing With the Stars Australia is almost back on our TV screens. And once again we will see a cast of Aussie stars, team them up with professional dancers to learn the finer points of dance. Some stars are naturally gifted, others work hard at this craft, and a few are made of left legs. At the start of each season, we don’t know which stars will shine and which will fall.

In 2024, Dancing With the Stars Australia tapped Ben Cousins to be on this series. Here’s everything we know about the former AFL star.
Who Is Dancing With the Stars Australia’s Ben Cousins?
Ben Cousins played for the West Coast Eagles in the AFL from 1996 until 2007. He also played for Richmond in 2009 and 2010. During his career he was known for his exceptional skills on the field, winning the Brownlow Medal in 2005, and an AFL Premiership with West Coast in 2006.
Substance abuse issues and other forms of misconduct plagued Ben’s career. Since 2007, Ben has been arrested multiple times for being in possession of methamphetamines. He has also been charged with breaking a violence-based restraining order. From February 2017 until January 2018, Ben underwent a sentence at the Acacia Prison in Western Australia.
In 2023, Ben landed a sports commentating role for 7NEWS Perth. Dancing With the Stars Australia will be his first reality TV experience.
How Is Ben Cousins Doing on Dancing With the Stars Australia?
Cousins said his Dancing With the Stars Australia training has been difficult. However, he has also enjoyed taking on this new task.

“It’s good timing, I suppose, I’m in a position to probably take on some new challenges and in a good space,” Cousins said in an interview. “I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to get out of it. But I think it will surprise me.”
“I have enjoyed it up until now, but it has been hard. So, there’s certainly no time to lose momentum… Or let life get in the way.”
If you want to watch Dancing With the Stars Australia 2024, it will be airing on Channel 7 and streaming on 7 Plus. As of writing, Dancing With the Stars doesn’t have a release date. But we’ll let you know when this info hits our calendars.
