Your Instagram feed of consistent coronavirus memes may have been interrupted recently with pictures of a mysterious whipped beverage — a new and delicious phenomenon by the name of dalgona coffee or whipped coffee.
The delicacy, which hails from South Korea, gained viral popularity on TikTok recently as more internet users spent an increased amount of time online, searching for ways to occupy their time in isolation.
The drink asks only three ingredients: instant coffee, sugar, and hot water, that combine to form a caramel-coloured, fluffy and light-weight foam when mixed vigorously — for as long as 20 minutes.
The mixture is then spooned over either hot or cold milk with ice, and enjoyed with a spoon.
