For many, one of the best ways to unwind on a summer weekend is with a cold alcoholic drink. If that’s you and you’re looking for something affordable but that still tastes great and feels a bit special, consider Croser’s latest creation, Orange Spritz.

The brand is known for its sparkling wines, but this new drink uses pinot noir and chardonnay grapes as a base and adds to it, infusing in orange, tangerine, and grapefruit bitters. The result is a rose gold-coloured, light-bodied drink with notes of citrus. Extra herbal flavours help balance the bitterness, resulting in a fruity yet dry sparkling drink.

To serve the Orange Spritz, you simply need to pour it over ice — ideally in a large bowl-shaped wine glass — and, if you’re feeling fancy, garnish it with a slice of fresh or freeze-dried orange for extra zest. It’s best sipped as an aperitif or paired with light appetisers (and ideally, a warm outdoor setting).

If it’s too zesty for your palate and you’re keen for a drier, less bitter taste, grab the original Croser NV Sparkling instead at the same $30 per bottle. Or, if you want something sweeter, go for a Croser NV Sparkling Rose ($30). They’re all available at Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice.
