Courteney Cox Is Just Like Everyone During Quarantine and Is Binge-Watching Friends

Research suggests that that using humour is a great coping mechanism and what better way to get some comedy into your life right now, than by watching copious amounts of Friends.

If you’re currently in isolation and “quaran-streaming” the hit TV show, then you’re not alone, because even Courteney Cox, who played the highly-strung Monica Geller, is watching along with you.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s “Quarantine Minilogue” on YouTube, the 55-year-old admitted that she’s been “binge-watching” the sitcom — but mostly because she doesn’t remember it. Sorry, what?!

“I keep getting asked all these questions about Friends,” she told the host. “People ask me to do trivia things. I did a thing with Charlie Puth, I did something with Celeste Barber. I don’t remember even being on the show!”

Friends’ last episode aired in May 2004, so we could give her a little bit of reprieve, however, Cox put it down to having a “bad memory”.

“I remember obviously loving everybody there and having fun being there, and certain times in my life that I was there, but I don’t remember every episode. I fail every test!” she added.

Kimmel then brought his cousin Anthony, a bonafide Friends fanatic into the video chat to go head-to-head with Cox in a Monica-themed quiz.

And, while we all know the answers (and so did Kimmel’s cousin), Cox couldn’t even remember that it was Chandler (Matthew Perry) who peed on Monica’s leg when she got stung by a jellyfish.

“I may have said Joey, ok?” she said. “I like that episode a lot.”

Cox and 15-year-old daughter Coco have been in quarantine in her California home for “almost two weeks” and revealed that she really is like the rest of us and has been consuming a lot junk food.

On March 19 it was announced that the highly-anticipated Friends reunion had been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Deadline, even if the current production holds, we should be able to watch it at the same time, along with HBO Max, although no launch date has been given.
