I don’t care that triple-dip La Niña is a fun combo of words, I won’t have any part in it. Like many Aussies, I’m over the onslaught of rain that this unique weather event has created. I just want my summer to be a vibe without any showers, drizzles, and or overflowing streets. Is that really too much to ask for?

Unfortunately, La Niña might have other plans. Moreover, its sopping-wet plans might impact your Christmas, depending on where you live. Therefore, it’s time to get prepped.

Here’s our Christmas day weather forecast that’ll unpack if your December 25 dreams will be rained on. 

NSW

Christmas Day Weather in Sydney

This Christmas, Sydney has dodged La Niña’s sopping-wet bullets. There’s only a 10% chance of rain on December 25, with a minimum of 19 degrees and a max of 28 degrees. Moreover, the Christmas day weather forecast reckons it’ll be mostly sunny. 

Christmas Day Weather in Wollongong and Newcastle

Like Sydney, both Wollongong and Newcastle will probably be swell weather-wise on Christmas. Both of these places will enjoy a 10% chance of getting rained on and maximum temps of less than 30 degrees. 

Christmas Day Weather in Wagga Wagga

Shout out to my hometown of Wagga Wagga, where I’ll be spending my Christmas. Wagga Wagga is forecast to have a no chance of getting rained on. It’s also predicted to have a minimum of 15 degrees and to top at 33 degrees. 

The fact that Wagga Wagga isn’t foreshadowed to have a 40-degree Christmas is a huge win in my books. Thank you, Christmas day weather forecast. Thank you.

Victoria

Christmas Day Weather in Melbourne

On December 25, Melbourne probably won’t have four seasons in one day. In fact, Melbourne will most likely be sunny and it has a 0% chance of getting wet. It’s also predicted to have a minimum of 13 degrees and a max of 29 degrees. 

Christmas Day Weather in Bendigo 

The Christmas day weather forecast is also popping off for Bendigo. This joint has a 0% chance of receiving any rain. Bendigo’s predicted to have a minimum of 13 degrees and to hit 34 degrees. 

Christmas Day Weather in Portland

The weather in Portland will be slightly more chilly. The weather forecast for this place states that it’ll be cloudy with a minimum of 12 degrees and a top of 18 degrees. However, there’s a 0% chance of Christmas rain happening, which is golden.

Queensland

Christmas Day Weather in Brisbane

In Brisbane, there’s a 40% chance of it raining on Christmas day. However, even if it does rain, it probably won’t be a ton of the stuff. The Christmas day weather forecast is stating that the max amount of rain Brissie will get is one mm.

Temperature-wise, Brisbane is expected to have a minimum of 20 degrees and hit the height of 31 degrees. The day is expected to be somewhat cloudy. 

Christmas Day Weather on the Gold Coast

Like Brisbane, there’s a 30% chance of it raining on the Gold Coast’s December 25. The max amount of rain it’ll likely receive is also 0.4 mm.

On Christmas day, the Gold Coast is expected to have a minimum of 19 degrees and get up to 30 degrees. This date is forecast to be a bit cloudy.

Christmas Day Weather in Cairns

Cairns is the first place on this list which is forecasted to be rained on during Christmas day. It’s currently 80% likely that Cairns will receive between 0.01 mm and 15 mm. Cairns is also predicted to have a minimum of 25 degrees and a max of 31 degrees.

South Australia

Christmas Day Weather in Adelaide 

Adelaide is another place that’s expected to have a dry one. There’s currently a 0% chance of it raining on Christmas day, and it’s expected to be sunny. At the moment, Adelaide is forecast to have a minimum of 15 degrees and then hit 32 degrees.

Christmas Day Weather in Coober Pedy

Unlike Adelaide, Coober Pedy is predicted to have a 5% chance of getting rained on and is believed to be mostly sunny on December 25. The Christmas day weather forecast is saying that Coober Pedy will have a minimum of 23 degrees and top at 39 degrees.

Western Australia

Christmas Day Weather in Perth

The Christmas day weather forecast in Perth is rain-free. That’s right, on December 25, this joint is predicted to have a 0% chance of getting wet. Instead, Perth will enjoy a sunny day with a minimum of 18 degrees and then hit 31 degrees.

Christmas Day Weather in Broome

Broome is also likely to have some undramatic Christmas weather. This joint only has a 30% chance of receiving any rain. 

Nevertheless, it will be on the hotter side. On Christmas day, Broome is expected to have a minimum of 28 degrees and get up to 33 degrees.

Christmas Day Weather in Kalgoorlie

If you thought the Christmas day weather in Broome was rough, then let me introduce you to Kalgoorlie. In Kalgoorlie, it’s predicted to have a minimum of 21 degrees and a max of 42 degrees. Yup, 42 degrees. RIP Kalgoorlie.

Unsurprisingly, this boiling weather probs won’t make way for any rain. The Christmas day weather forecast is saying that there’s a 20% chance of it raining in Kalgoorlie on said date. 

Tasmania

Christmas Day Weather in Hobart

Unlike some other places in Australia, the Christmas day weather in Hobart isn’t expected to be rough-as-guts hot. This place is predicted to have a minimum of 12 degrees and then hit 25 degrees. There’s currently a 5% chance of it raining here on Xmas day.

Christmas Day Weather in Queenstown

Queenstown is another place on this list which probs won’t receive any rain on December 25. The Christmas day weather forecast is currently saying that there’s a 40% chance of Queenstown receiving between 0.01 mm and 1 mm on said date. 

It’ll also be on the colder side in Queenstown. This area is expected to have a minimum of 11 degrees and get up to 22 degrees.

Christmas Day Weather in Smithton

Smithton is no longer a coin flip between receiving some Christmas day rain or being as dry as a bone. On December 19, Smithton has a 50% chance of being hit with between 0.01 mm and 1 mm. It now only a 10% chance of  receiving any rain.

This joint is also expected to have a minimum of 10 degrees and a max of 21 degrees.

Northern Territory 

Christmas Day Weather in Darwin

Sorry Darwin, but you’re probably going to get soaked on Christmas day. Darwin currently has a 70% chance of being smashed with between 0.01 mm and 10 mm on Xmas itself. Moreover, it’s possible that’ll storm on this date. 

To make matters gnarlier, just because it’s raining doesn’t mean it won’t be hot. The Christmas day weather forecast is saying that Darwin will have a minimum of 25 degrees and then hit 32 degrees.

Christmas Day Weather in Alice Springs

Meanwhile, the Christmas day weather in Alice Springs tells a very different story. Alice Springs has a 40% chance of receiving between 0.01 mm and 1 mm on this date. It’ll also forecasted to be cloudy, have a minimum of 19 degrees, and then top at 27 degrees. 

The ACT

Christmas Day Weather in Canberra

In some news that will shock nobody, Canberra’s Christmas day weather forecast is expected to be similar to NSW’s Christmas day weather forecast. Canberra has only a 10% chance of receiving any rain. It’s expected to be sunny with a minimum of 12 degrees and a peak temp of 31 degrees.
