A Celebrity Version of Big Brother Australia Is Coming This Year — Who Will Be in the House?

Big Brother

Channel 7’s has announced the launch of a special event series that will have Big Brother fans wishing it was the end of the year — Big Brother VIP.

Hosted by Sonia Kruger, the new iteration of the popular show will feature some of Australia’s best-known celebrities, removed from the world they know and locked away in an all-new Big Brother house.

“The new season of Big Brother looks fantastic. We can’t wait for Australia to meet this year’s amazing collection of housemates and to start discovering the many surprises and twists we have built into the show,” Seven Network Programming Director, Angus Ross said.

“With anticipation for the new season building, the time is right to commission Big Brother VIP. The celebrity format is a proven success around the world. It was a hit here in Australia almost two decades ago and we’re looking forward to introducing a whole new generation of celebrities to Big Brother. Let the game begin.” And let the game begin indeed.

Channel 7 will soon be announcing the stars but over here at The Latch, we’ve already started guessing just who will walk through the doors.

Of course, there will be some popular sports stars, a bevvy of Home and Away actors (how good if Ray Meagher a.k.a Alf Stewart went in), maybe Kochie from Sunrise and even a few Dancing With the Stars celebrities. It’s anybody’s guess, but we can’t wait.

In previous years, under the helm of Network Ten, Big Brother saw famous faces such as Dylan Lewis, Jay Laga’aia, Kyle Sandilands, Sara-Marie Fedele, Gabby Millgate, Adriana Xenides, Warwick Capper and Anthony Mundine enter Big Brother’s house.

Big Brother’s game keeps getting bigger — now bring on the next season!
