‘The Bachelorette’s’ Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli Have Parted Ways

Just weeks after declaring their love for one another in the finale of The Bachelorette 2021, Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli have parted ways.
The loved up pair had recently moved in together in Melbourne, after Garayeli sold his Queensland home to be with Blurton, who made the move from Western Australia.
Garayeli made the announcement via his Instagram stories on January 2, 2022, saying that whilst he and Brooke had “genuinely believed they were each other’s person, things change and that’s okay.”
“Starting off the New Year off with an end to a chapter and hopefully the beginning of another,” Darvid began, later concluding the post by saying “Thank you so much for being considerate, a lot of lessons learned.”
He asked that their privacy be respected and that everyone remember they are real people with real feelings.
Blurton did not directly comment on the split at first but also posted a slide to her stories thanking her loved ones for going on the wild ride of 2021 with her. The Bachelorette star turned 27 on New Year’s Day.
She has since posted a slide to her stories saying that she found the announcement to be overwhelming and “just as much of a surprise to me as to you guys.”
“It was definitely agreed to part ways,” she wrote. “I just wanted to do it privately, amicably and respectfully.”
The former couple chatted to POPSUGAR Australia back in November following the series finale, where they spoke of their excitement at starting their lives together.
“I classify myself as a little bit of a hustler, so we both decided we were going to do this,” Blurton said of their plans. “Darvid’s been busy in Brissy working away at selling his business, and packing up his house and putting it on the market. It’s been a long four months.”
Added Garayeli, “It’s kept us busy which is good, because long distance is difficult. I got everything ready just a couple of days ago and it was such a relief.”
Blurton made history in the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise by becoming the first bisexual and Indigenous lead of the series. She had previously appeared on The BachelorandBachelor in Paradise. This post originally appeared on POPSUGAR Australia.Read more stories from The Latch and subscribe to our email newsletter.
