For fans of the TV series, Friends, the beginning of 2020 looked so promising.
It was a time when all of the cast finally joined Instagram, an official cookbook with over 90 recipes was released, a Friends parody musical was announced for Australia and the best news of all — a main cast reunion special was coming.
Of course, the coronavirus pandemic threw a spanner in the works but there was still hope — in Australia, we could watch all ten series on both Stan, Netflix AND Binge.
Earlier in the year — January 20, 2020, to be exact — the most magical Friends reunion of all time occurred. Former “It” couple Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were captured on camera for the first time in years, embracing one another at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards in Los Angeles.
The internet went wild, with fans across the globe desperate for a reunion.
Now, the pair has granted the wish of many. Sort of.
Aniston and Pitt are among numerous celebrities who have signed on for a live-streamed table read of the 1982 film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High called Feelin’ A-Live.
This will be the first time that the couple appears on-screen together since Pitt played Will, the president of the “We Hate Rachel Green” club, on Friends in 2001.
While not physically in the same room — because, you know, social distancing and all — they will join Sean Penn for the charity event.
The table read will also feature another mini-reunion between Pitt and Julia Roberts — who played alongside him in Oceans 11.
Other stars set to appear are Jimmy Kimmel, Morgan Freeman, Shia LaBeouf, Henry Golding, Dane Cook and Matthew McConaughey, with more names to be announced.
Feelin’ A-Live is an “unrehearsed, anything-goes table read” organised to raise money for Penn’s non-profit, CORE and the REFORM Alliance,” and will be live-streamed on August 21.
