After a two year hiatus, the Sugar Republic team are back and giving us the good stuff—endless colour, joy and Instagrammable moments.
Popping up at Melbourne’s Woodlea Estate, is their latest venture; Bloomville. Yep, it’s a bubbly and pretty as it sounds.
Taking over shipping containers in Woodlea, they’ve created an immersive confetti shower, a retro floral topsy turvy bedroom—live out that Magic Faraway Tree fantasy—fun neon signs, an entire cherry blossom installation, rain and sunshine rooms, not to mention all the colourful dreamscapes and outdoor play spaces.
Inspired by hope, the theme of Bloomville is designed to help us emerge from the pandemic, by bringing joy and raising funds for local charities.
“It’s been a difficult past few years with most of our events at Woodlea being cancelled or postponed,” said Woodlea Project Director Matthew Dean to Secret Melbourne. “These are events that not only Woodlea residents, but Melbourne’s west looks forward to each year, so being able to bring Sugar Republic to Woodlea is a really exciting milestone; to give back to charities in the process is just the cherry on top,” he added.
100 percent of all ticket sales will be donated to three local charities, which visitors will be able choose between: Alex Makes Meals, the Lort Smith Animal Hospital or the Good Friday Appeal.
“When Woodlea approached us to create a pop-up with them, I jumped at the chance,” said Allison Jones, Director and Creator of Sugar Republic to Secret Melbourne. “My own childhood took place in a new suburb like Woodlea, and I was inspired by the sense of new beginnings and putting down roots for a brighter future.”
And just when you think it can’t get any more wholesome… there’s also a dedicated day for dogs(!!!).
Tickets for Bloomville are selling out quickly (we all need a bit of joy and sparkle right now), so jump onto their website and book today.
