Vivid Sydney has officially flicked the switch on, which means from now until June 18, the CBD will be packed with locals and visitors looking to get a taste of the highly anticipated light festival.

Although, finding the unique experiences always takes some research. After a two year hiatus, this year’s Vivid Sydney is the biggest and boldest yet. Take advantage of the new fleet of light installations, music performances, and suite of creative experiences, with our edit of the not-so-boring ways to see Vivid Sydney 2022.

Three-Course Multi-Sensory Dining Experience at 6HEAD

The Rocks
The Rocks has one of the best vantage points for the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, so why not experience the light show with a three-course meal. 6HEAD is hosting a multi-sensory dinner, that blends fine dining, theatrics, technology, lighting, and storytelling. On arrival, expect a RedBalloon Vivid-inspired welcome cocktail, before sitting down for a symphony of taste, sound, and touch. Post-dinner, enjoy a stroll around The Rocks to find more lights and experiences. Book here.

Vivid Sydney Helicopter Flight

Mascot
When it comes to experiencing the lights, you can’t beat a bird’s eye view. Join a 25-minute helicopter tour, including flight commentary, to see Sydney’s main icons and even the Northern Beaches, transformed into a plethora of bright colours. The tour starts at Sydney Airport, then zips around the city, spotting the large light installations on the ground, and over to Manly to see the night-time glow.

Vivid Sydney Skywalk at Night

CBD
The Skywalk is an experience people can do year-round, but during Vivid Sydney, it’s one of the best times to take to the Sydney Tower Eye. This ultimate vantage point boasts panoramic views of the city, including the spectacle of colours during Vivid Sydney. The experience includes a blood-pumping stroll around the platform, and entry to the observation deck.

Vivid Sydney Cruise and Dinner

Circular Quay
Take to the water or on your own, neon-light sporting boat and enjoy a three-hour dinner cruise around the harbour. From your seat, you will be able to see light installations from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Barangaroo. Enjoy a three-course meal, and premium beverages, on a 78ft luxury cruiser. The boat swings past Taronga Zoo and Luna Park so head up to the deck space for the best views and photo opportunities.

Vivid Sydney Penfolds Six-Course Degustation Dinner Cruise

King St Wharf
Step it up a notch, with a Penfolds six-course dinner cruise. This premium experience matches Penfolds wine with a fine dining menu. There is also live music on board and let’s not forget the opportunity to see the spectacular Vivid Sydney lights from the water. Thanks to the seating arrangements, everyone gets a window seat to enjoy the show. It’s guaranteed to be a meal to remember.
