It’s no secret Pinterest is home to some of the best DIY hacks out there, and this one is no exception.
While trawling through hair tutorials and beauty tips, I stumbled across this hack and haven’t looked back since. Being somewhat of a wellness aficionado myself, I also happened to have the two essential ingredients on hand — as I’m sure many others will as well.
All you need is some Epsom salts and essential oil, and you’ll be well-set-up for the most relaxing bath of your life. Now all you need is some soothing music and a few ambient candles for a spa-like experience. Sounds like the perfect night-in ritual, if you ask me.
By using lavender essential oil combined with the Epsom salts, you’ll not only get the beautiful smell from the flower but also make use of some of its healing properties as well, known to improve relaxation.
There are a number of variations on the Epsom salt and lavender combo on Pinterest, with different ingredients providing different added benefits in addition. Some call for baking soda to reduce pH, while others recommend eucalyptus for its anti-inflammatory benefits.
Feel free to add other essential oils as well, keeping the base recipe the same and researching the effects of anything else you’d like to add. For example, a few drops of lemon to boost your mood or chamomile to help you sleep better.
