The Organic Australian Fake Tan Looking Out for Your Skin and the Planet

There’s nothing healthy about a tan — a real one, that is. Fake tan, on the other hand, does well to afford us an easy summer glow that gives the illusion of time spent in the sun, with none of the irreparable damage to our body’s biggest organ, our skin.

Fake tan had a bad rap when it first hit the beauty scene some 10 or 15 years ago, with orange undertones and coagulatory formulas that clung to the slightest patches of dry skin. But it’s since come a long way, with new formulas on the market that have varying base colours to suit a range of skin types and shades.

We’ve seen some good and some great, but the latest brand to make our acquaintance is Three Warriors. The award-winning certified natural and organic tan brand describes itself as the ‘crème de la crème’ of bottled tans, and while the resulting glow gives the appearance of a natural suntan, the brand says there’s nothing “fake” about it.

“We’re real, we’re raw and we use the best and most pure natural ingredients available to us direct from mother nature, from the pristine shores of our home state Tasmania.”

The formula is free from any ingredients shown or suspected to harm human health. This means no toxic ingredients, endocrine disruptors or cancer-causing carcinogens. It’s also Certified Organic, Australian Certified Toxic Free, and Vegan.

Using ingredients that include raw hand-pressed olive oil from Flinders Island, Tasmanian fresh spring water and manuka and leatherwood honey, all of which are designed to heal and nourish all skin types while the tan develops, the product goes above and beyond its competitors on the market.

All of its natural ingredients are ethically and sustainably sourced from Tasmania, before the product is made right here on Australian soil, proudly employing Australian workers. Even better, Three Warriors is the first organic tanning company to give back to social and environmental change, with 10% of all profits donated to Wello Water — a social enterprise facilitating life-changing water projects.

The Three Warriors range is comprised of it’s best-selling Face Tan Aqua Mist ($32.95), the Self-Tan Mousse ($34.94), and the Gradual Tan ($34.95). Extras include the Eco-Friendly Tanning Mit ($19.95), the Tasmanian Sand Scrub ($29.95) and the 1L Spray Tan Solution ($109).

Glow-getters can find the Three Warriors range on its own online store, The Iconic, Surf Stitch, and Nourished Life.
