All of the Winners from the 2022 BAFTA Awards Including Will Smith, Belfast and Encanto

The 2022 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards made a welcome return to an in-person ceremony, hosted by Australia’s very own Rebel Wilson, after being held virtually in 2021 due to the pandemic.

The ceremony was opened by the legendary Dame Shirley Bassey, as a nod to the
60th anniversary of the James Bond franchise.

Bassey has provided the soundtrack for many of the films in the franchise, including Diamonds Are Forever and Goldfinger, making her the perfect performer to kick off the festivities at Royal Albert Hall.

The Bond franchise itself has been nominated for 32 BAFTA’s since 1962 and has won four.

Of the 48 films nominated for the big night, Dune led the charge with 11 nods followed by The Power of the Dog with eight and Belfast with six. Meanwhile, the latest Bond film, No Time to Die, has five, while CODA has three.

In the acting categories, Lady Gaga earned her second BAFTA nomination for House of Gucci, while Joanna Scanlan and Emilia Jones earned nods for After Love and Coda respectively. An interesting snub was surely Kristen Stewart for her portrayal of Lady Diana in Spencer.

Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch was up for Best Actor thanks to his turn in The Power of the Dog, Mahershala Ali was nominated for Swan Song, Leonardo DiCaprio scored a mention for Don’t Look Up and Will Smith earned his first BAFTA nom for King Richard.

Read on for all for the full list of winners from the 2022 BAFTA Awards.
