After being ejected from the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Australia jungle, Alli Simpson gained “a new perspective” on life.
The 22-year-old model, who boasts 1.2 million followers on Instagram, left feeling “stronger and more confident” in things that are to come.
“Life is not easy and is likely to be full of more obstacles,” Simpson told The Latch after her elimination. “This was one of them [I’m a Celeb] for me and I completed it. I’m proud of that and I’m ready for whatever is going to come my way.”
For Simpson, who has already had a successful career at such a young age, being on the show was a way for Australia to see her for who she really was.
“I’m weird and I’m strange. I’m crazy. I love not wearing making makeup most of the time and I just wear track pants and I’m like, well, if this is me on the daily basis, then I’d rather let people see that side of me.
“I definitely want to be more vulnerable moving forward and now that Australia has seen this side of me, I think it’s awesome.”
When Simpson entered the jungle she was embroiled in a “love triangle”, one she had no idea she was in until she watched the show back with the rest of Australia.
“I sent everyone a group text and was like, ‘Guys, you should have let me know!’ They’re all amazing guys. I was just someone new in there and we had so much fun.”
Simpson grew up with two brothers and it’s no secret that her oldest brother, Cody, is one of the most famous popstars in the world — even having dated Miley Cyrus for eight months. However, for the young star, being “Cody’s little sister” is an absolute privilege and there’s no sibling rivalry.
“Cody and I are so close. Me, Cody and Tom — our younger brother — we have this weird sibling relationship where we’ve never argued our whole life,” she said.
“We grew up on the road together and are best friends. Being his sister, if anything, I was more proud of that then being like ‘I’m more than Cody’s sister!’. I am so proud to call him my brother and that I can watch him live his dreams and do what he loves to do.”
While talented in her own right, Simpson is aware that her brother has had a hand in “opening doors” for her in the industry, but he has also helped expand her “mind.”
“He’s opened my mind to the entertainment industry and opened my heart up to what I love to do,” she said.
Being in the jungle was an “exciting way to begin 2021” after the entertainment industry (along with the rest of the world) came to a halt in 2020 due to the global pandemic, however, Simpson is looking to a bright future.
“It’s [I’m a Celeb] helped me create a platform for me in Australia and I’m just going to go with the flow and keep working on myself and just sort of see what I can manifest because you never really know what’s going to happen.”
