Aldi’s Special Buys always delivers quality finds at a fraction of what you’d expect them to cost. Most recently, the German supermarket dropped a colour-changing gin, a luggage range that included a $40 backpack with a handy built-in USB charger and a $90 sturdy leather overnight bag, and a $399 robot vacuum (that mops, too!), down from the usual price of $799.
Now, shoppers are in for another treat — though, only those with a four-legged friend. From Wednesday, May 11, the Special Buys will be all about pets, with a range of beds, loungewear, leads, toys, food and treats just for cats and canines.
Called Creature Comforts, the range’s hero product is a Self-Heated Dog Bed, $39.99, which comes in multiple colours. Its cushion works as a reflective heat pad, providing extra warmth to your feline or pooch by radiating their own body heat. Handily, the cushion can easily be removed for summer or for cleaning.
Another highlight is a 10-pack of air-dried natural pork treats. Not only are Bow Wow Pigs Ears, $17.99, low in fat and salt and not containing any preservatives or added colours or flavours, but they also help to clean your pet’s teeth — so really, a treat for them and for you.
Also in the range is a plush Pet Snuggle Bed, $12.99, that’ll give your dog or cat heaps of comfy cosy sleep options, an easy-to-use Pet Furniture Protector, $24.99, a knitted Dog Jumper or sturdy Jacket, $11.99-$12.99, Bungee Launcher Dog Toys, $7.99, Retractable Lead with LED Lights, $19.99, and Assorted Pet Bowls with Stands, $19.99.
Helpfully, ALDI launched a Special Buys Stock Checker, which you can use to check products one day after they appear in-store and up to four weeks after their drop, which, again, is Wednesday, May 11. To avoid missing out, it’s recommended you check before you go.
