Take Wine Tasting to New Heights With Invivo Air, the World’s First Winery Owned Airline

For many, one of the best parts about flying is taking a sip of wine on board, knowing you made your flight and can finally relax. One airline is taking things a step further by making the whole experience about that sip.

Set to launch in 2023, Invivo Air is a new airline in New Zealand offering a wine-tasting experience in the air, followed by dinner on the ground, and an overnight stay at a hotel.

On its two-hour journey from Auckland to Queenstown, guests will be guided through an eight-step wine-tasting led by Invivo co-founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron. Tipples will be from Invivo’s award-winning range, including Graham Norton wines and Invivo X, SJP wines. Non-alcoholic and low-alcoholic options will be available too.

With a full glass in hand, passengers can peer over to the window to see the country’s vineyards below. After two hours, the plane will land in Queenstown, where you will be treated to an overnight stay at the Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa, a visit to Botswana Butchery, and dinner at a local restaurant, complete with Invivo wines. The next day, you’ll fly back to Auckland, where you can continue your journey through New Zealand’s North Island or make your way home.

“Invivo Air is the world’s first winery airline and we’re looking forward to guiding our guests through the ultimate wine lovers experience – both at 18,000ft in our winery in the sky and also on terra firma at one of our beautiful Central Otago vineyards,” says Rob Cameron, co-founder of Invivo Air, via Conde Nast Traveller.

“We’ll be tasting some stunning drops in some truly epic locations. So, wine not come fly with us and experience business class in every glass!”

Tickets will set you back around $1,094 AUD per person. Unfortunately, the first winery flight, set to take off on January 31, 2023, is already sold out but Invivo is launching more flights. You can register your interest on Invivo Air’s site.
