After a few long years of award shows and events being cancelled, rescheduled and scaled down, things are beginning to feel like they’re getting back to normal.
This year has marked the Academy Awards‘ return to the Dolby Theatre, and the Sydney Film Festival has been able to launch its first full scale program since 2019. Closer to home, this year will mark the return of the TV Week Logie Awards, the first since 2019.
It’s an exciting time for Australian music’s night of nights, with the ARIAs set to return this November as an in-person event.
“In 2022 we are absolutely thrilled to bring the ARIA Awards back to a full-scale, television event packed with the performances, glitz, and glamour that Australian music fans know and love,” said ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd in a statement.
This year marks the fourth year of the ARIA’s partnership with YouTube, and the streaming giant will once again play host to all the red carpet and pre-show coverage in 2022.

Where Will the 2022 ARIA Awards Be Held?
The 2022 ARIA Awards will be held at one of Sydney’s most iconic live music venues, the Hordern Pavilion on Gadigal land.
“We are thrilled to have Nine Network as broadcast partners in addition to global streaming access across YouTube to celebrate what promises to be an incredibly exciting ARIA Awards at Sydney’s iconic live music venue The Hordern Pavilion,” said Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade Minister for Sport and Tourism, The Hon. Stuart Ayres MP, in a statement.
He continued: “Music and live entertainment are vital to our social and economic wellbeing, so we are committed to supporting the industry’s recovery through events like ARIA Awards, Great Southern Nights and other initiatives such as the Live Music Support Package and CBD revitalisation programs.”

The 2022 ARIA Awards will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and 9Now for residents in Australia, with red carpet content and pre-show content streaming live on YouTube. For international viewers wanting to watch the show, they’ll also be able to tune in on YouTube.
