Netflix’s ‘Virgin River’ Has an Air Date and You Know We’ll Be Watching

Virgin River

Oh Virgin River, how I have a love/hate relationship with you. Just like Sweet Magnolias you stole my heart, but make me cringe like no other.

If you’re like me, and you simply must watch the second season, I have great news for you. Netflix has announced its release date and yes, thank you very much.

Arriving on Friday, November 27 (mark your calendars), Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) is back alongside Hart of Dixie’s Tim Matheson as “Doc” Mullins in the remote Californian town of Virgin River.

According to Netflix’s teaser, there’s an engagement, more babies and even more heartbreak, but in addition to the rota of the first season, the small town will also be rocked by murder.

Returning for the additional season, Breckenridge will once again be joined by New Zealand actor Martin Henderson as the (hot) former marine and bar owner, alongside Annette O’Toole as Mayor Hope McCrea and other cast members including Lauren Hammersley, Colin Lawrence, Grayson Gurnsey and Sarah Dugdale.

The official synopsis of Virgin River centres around Melinda Monroe, who answers an ad to work as a nurse practitioner in the remote California town of Virgin River and soon discovers that small-town living isn’t quite as simple as she expected and that she must learn to heal herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.

Henderson and Breckenridge released a full-on cringe-fest on Instagram, announcing the news to their some 86k followers. It’s kind of cute, but very hard to watch. Just like the show itself.

In a number of other posts on the official Instagram account, teasers have slowly been released about the new season including: “Who are Jack and Charmaine visiting and why?” (oh, the mystery!), “What is happening between Preacher and Paige?” and “will the loss of Mark be too much for Mel to love again?”

All of these questions answered and more in season two. What a thrill!

Watch Virgin River on Netflix from November 27.
