Filming for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Has Officially Wrapped. So Where Will All the Celebs Go?

The highly anticipated Thor: Love and Thunder has officially wrapped up filming, according to Chris Hemsworth’s latest Instagram post.

Posting a pic of himself alongside director Taika Waititi, Hemsworth wrote: “That’s a wrap on Thor Love and Thunder, it’s also national don’t flex day so I thought this super relaxed photo was appropriate.”

As a very serious journalist, I regret to inform you that I simply could not find any evidence that “National Don’t Flex Day” is a real thing, but I’d like to take this time to wish a happy National Rocky Road Day and/or National Bubba Day to all who celebrate it.

Lies aside, Hemsworth has promised us a film that’s “gonna be bats**t crazy off the wall funny” while also tugging on our heartstrings.

“Lots of love, lots of thunder!” he assured us, thanking the cast and crew for making the filming experience “another incredible Marvel journey”.

The film reunites Hemsworth with Thor: Ragnarok director (and Rita Ora’s potential love interest) Taiki Waititi, who also co-wrote the film with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.

Last month, it was revealed that Russell Crowe was joining the cast of the Marvel blockbuster as Zeus, the god of the sky. According to Deadline, “the hope was to surprise fans with this fun cameo when the film was released” but then Crowe was papped in Sydney hanging out with the film’s extensive and star-studded cast.

Once the Crowe was outta the bag, the Oscar-winner was happy to chat to the Joy Breakfast Radio Show about his cameo.

“I’m going to ride up to Disney Fox Studios and around about 9:15, I shall be Zeus!” he joked at the time. “It’s for Thor. It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about, and I’m going to enjoy it.”

Aside from Hemsworth and Crowe, the film will also star Karen Gillan, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Matt Damon, Russell Crowe, Melissa McCarthy, Sam Neill, Sean Gunn, Jaimie Alexander and Christian Bale. Basically? It’s guaranteed to be a huge box office smash, but that’s nothing new for the Thor films, after all, they’ve grossed USD$1.94 billion at the global box office so far.

Thor: Love and Thunder is slated for theatrical release on May 6, 2022.
