The Ordinary’s New 100% Niacinamide Powder Can Be Mixed Into Your Serums and Moisturisers

The Ordinary

Lovers of The Ordinary rejoice as a new product is about to join the family — 100% Niacinamide Powder. The fuss-free brand has formulated a product that offers the most direct topical exposure of niacinamide.

In case you’re not familiar, niacinamide is a form of vitamin B-3 — an essential nutrient, which according to Healthline, if lacking in your body can lead to skin, kidney and brain disorders.

When it comes to your skin, niacinamide helps builds keratin, a protein that keeps your skin firm, while also reducing inflammation and redness. The nutrient also creates a lipid barrier in your skin, which helps retain moisture. It also comes in handy with regulating oil production and minimising the appearance of pores.

While The Ordinary currently offer a Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum, the 100% Niacinamide Powder gives you a DIY experience and allows you to personalise the usage based on your preference.

The powder targets visible shine, enlarged pores and irregular skin texture, while also offering versatility as it can be added into other products like peptide serums. This allows you to address multiple skin concerns at once.

The Ordinary’s 100% Niacinamide Powder can be mixed into any water-based products, as long as the PH of the base is between 5.0 and 7.0. If you’re already firmly on The Ordinary bandwagon, you can add the powder to the following products: Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Natural Moisturising Factors + HA, “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1%, Matrixyl 10% + HA and Argireline Solution 10%.

To use, simply mix a quarter scoop of the spoon provided with a water-based product in the palm of your hand and apply to your face in the morning and/or evening.

The Ordinary’s 100% Niacinamide Powder launches on August 4 on the Deciem website for $9.70. Head online to join the waitlist to be notified when the product is available.
