A glamorous lunch at Rockpool Bar & Grill that’ll see four rising Indigenous chefs take over the hatted institution, an all-vegan, boozy brunch at Alibi Bar & Kitchen and a dreamy, waterside dinner from Ormeggio at The Spit dedicated to all things seafood are just a few events to feature at upcoming Sydney Good Food Month.
In its 23rd year, the Australian festival of fine dining will take over the city this January 2022, showcasing bites from some of the biggest names on Australia’s dining scene, as well as from a slew of up-and-coming culinary stars, across a mix of pop-ups, masterclasses and events.
“The Sydney Good Food Month program really shines a light on our amazing dining scene, artisan producers, and chef and restaurant talent, and will provide festival-goers with those really special and memorable dining moments that have been so missed over the last two years,” said Venessa Cowell, Head of Nine Food Events.
On the line-up is a one-night-only dinner That’s a’Mare: Food of the Italian Coast. Taking place on January 13, it’ll see Michelin-trained master of regional Italian fare Alessando Pavoni, Melbourne’s Guy Grossi, Pilu at Freshwater’s Giovanni Pilu and NOMAD’s Jacqui Challinor taking diners on a delicious tasting tour of Italy’s coastline.
The Indigenous Chefs Lunch at Rockpool Bar & Grill, on January 30, will see four young Indigenous chefs preparing one course each, with every ticket a donation to the National Indigenous Culinary Institute. And for those who love dinner and a movie, don’t look past Take Me To Marrakech, which will see a screening of Casablanca played while diners can tuck into a Morrocan feast, courtesy of a NOMAD and Golden Age Cinema collaboration.
Also on the programme is a Beckett’s Pop-Up at Sisters Rock Restaurant, Borrodell Estate in Orange, a Girl Gang Young Chefs Collab dinner from Pipit in Pottsville and a BBQ Wars dinner in Barangaroo. Butter Sydney and Rising Sun Workshop will co-host an Ain’t nuthin but a Chicken Party, Gavroche Chippendale will put on an A Night in Paris event, complete with burlesque, and The Pines in the Shire will see an oyster and caviar festival take over its seaside setting.
Head here for the full programme. Tickets are on sale from 9am today, Tuesday, November 30.
