Watch Sunset Over Mudgee Through Floor-to-Ceiling Windows at This New Tiny Home

New South Wales isn’t short on tiny home stays, but Elouera Tiny House is one of the most unique. Located in Mudgee, around four hours inland from Sydney, the home comes with an outdoor shower and bath, a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows from which you can watch the sun setting over the countryside.

Opened in September 2023, the tiny house is located in adults-only glamping accommodation Sierra Escape. It came about because owner Cameron D’Arcy wanted to bring the same luxurious vibes offered in the property’s five glamping tents to a completely different kind of accommodation.

“We thought it’d be awesome to give our guests even more options and reasons to stay with us,” says D’Arcy. “Plus, it was a bit of a challenge we couldn’t resist.”

The home sleeps two in a king-sized bed and is located a four-minute walk from the property’s communal pool and yoga deck. Elouera boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around its living space, letting you take in views of the countryside from its location, at the top of a hill.

Building Elouera was an adventure, says D’Arcy. He had been planning it since 2019, but COVID, floods, supply shortages and labour issues threw a few spanners in the works. Plus, building in a remote location had its own set of hurdles, particularly when it came to the floor-to-ceiling windows. But, D’Arcy says, he leaned into the challenge and didn’t take no for an answer.

“Those glass windows are a showstopper,” he says. “Picture yourself watching the sun rise over the horizon — it’s magical. And those windows make stargazing from inside a real treat. We’ve even got motorised curtains, so you can open them up without getting out of bed.”

Another of Elouera’s highlights, says D’Arcy, is its privacy. He promises you won’t see another soul for miles during a stay — ideal for those enjoying the outdoor bath or shower. Also, every corner you turn, there’s a view to soak in. Even the dressing room has a view. Elouera guests also get access to the facilities glamping guests do, like the pool and outdoor lounge.

D’Arcy suggests on a stay at Elouera, you wake early to a stunning sunrise, maybe even treating yourself to an outdoor bath. Then, take a stroll around the property, greeting its resident kangaroos.

“Head into town to check out the local shops and treat yourself to a long lunch at Zin House,” he says. “Come back to Sierra in the afternoon, relax with a local produce hamper and a glass of local wine as the sun sets. If it’s warm enough, venture over to our beautiful swimming pool for a dip.”

“When night falls, enjoy a sky full of stars before snuggling up in your comfy king-size bed to the sounds of nature. It’s the recipe for a perfect day.”
