Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s announcement that non-essential services had been closed due to the coronavirus, has affected thousands of businesses all over the country — including the closures of cinemas.
However, has COVID-19 is a global pandemic, the entire world has had to close the doors on their theatres, pushing back blockbuster release dates.
While there was some good news to come out of China on March 24 (where the virus was first detected) — with over 500 cinemas reopening across the country, people are still hesitant to attend.
So, in order to combat this, movie houses like Universal Pictures, Warner Bros and Paramount Pictures, have all put their major releases on hold — and in some cases, released on-demand versions early.
Here is a list of all of the major films and their new cinematic release dates.
The Batman
On April 21, Warner Bros announced the release calendar for many of its upcoming projects including Robert Pattinson’s as the titular character in The Batman.
The film was set to be released on June 24, 2021, however, has been moved towards the end of next year.

New Release Date: September 31, 2021
Minions
On March 20, Illumination pulled the Minions: The Rise of Gru July release date due to closures in France which saw the film unable to finish the production.
Then on April 2, it was announced that it would now be released in 2021.

Wonder Woman 1984
On March 25, Warner Bros. announced that they would be postponing the Gal Gadot blockbuster, Wonder Woman 1984.
Original Release Date: June 4, 2020
New Release Date: October 1 2020
James Bond: No Time to Die
On March 5, James Bond fans were told they’d have to wait just a little bit longer for the highly anticipated No Time to Die.
Original Release Date: April 2020
New Release Date: November 12 2020

Black Widow
On March 24, Marvel delayed the release date of Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, with a new date set of November 5, 2020.

Mulan
On March 13, Disney announced that they would be postponing the upcoming release of Disney’s Mulan live-action film.

New Release Date: July 23, 2020
In The Heights
On March 25, Warner Bros announced that they would be pulling the release date of In The Heights indefinitely.
Original Release Date: March 27, 2020
New Release Date: No new date set.
