Watch Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson in the First Trailer for ‘Red Notice’

Red Notice Netflix

Gal Gadot, Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson are probably some of the most recognisable names in Hollywood and they’ve joined forces for a new action-packed Netflix blockbuster, Red Notice.

The film follows Johnson as FBI agent John Hartley who must work with a con artist and “world’s greatest art thief” named Nolan Booth (Reynolds) in order to capture one of the world’s most wanted and elusive criminals (and also an art thief), The Bishop, played by Gadot. Ritu Arya and Chris Diamantopoulos also star.

The trailer for the big-budget heist film promises plenty of car chases, explosions, fights, globe-trotting, loads of action and, because this is a Ryan Reynolds movie, plenty of one-liners.

Red Notice is one of many films that were impacted by the pandemic, with the production starting in Atlanta, Georgia in January 2020 before being put on pause as the US grappled with COVID-19. Filming that was due to take place in Italy also got delayed thanks to the virus but was eventually able to move forward in Rome and Sardinia.

The blockbuster is the most expensive Netflix original movie ever made with production clocking in between USD $160 million and USD $200 million, as the steamer looks to solidify its place in the original content market.

Johnson also serves as the film’s executive producer, while Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote and directed. The pair have previously worked together on 2016’s Central Intelligence and 2018’s Skyscraper.

Johnson’s most recent outing was Disney’s Jungle Cruise with Emily Blunt and he also appeared in a cameo in the surprise hit Free Guy, which is led by Reynolds. The movie, which centres around Reynolds’ character discovering that his life has always existed inside a video game, has made more than USD $182 million worldwide so far.

For her part, Gadot will next be seen alongside Kenneth Brannagh in the Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile and is also working with her Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins on a big-budget production about Cleopatra.

Red Notice will land on Netflix on November 12, 2021, and you can catch the trailer below.
