Jamie Foxx’s New Film ‘Project Power’ Is the New ‘Limitless’

Project Power

“If there was a pill that could give you five minutes of pure power, what would you take it?”

Netflix has just released a trailer for Jamie Foxx’ newest film Project Power — and if you loved Limitless starring Bradley Cooper, then this is right up your alley.

Much like the 2011 film, this new flick is based on a mysterious pill. While Limitless saw the consumer gain the ability to use the full extent of their brain, the pill in Project Power is a little different — it can temporarily give you superpowers.

Set in the streets of New Orleans, word begins to spread about a mysterious new pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it.

While some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction. But when the pill escalates crime within the city to dangerous levels, a local cop (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) teams with a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) and a former soldier fuelled by a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) to fight power with power and risk-taking the pill in order to track down and stop the group responsible for creating it.

Having and being addicted to power is not a new concept, especially when it comes to amplifying things that you wish you could have.

In Limitless, taking the drug is as addictive as sugar. You’re smarter, faster and your whole life begins to change.

While we don’t know what the superpowers really mean for those who swallow the pill, we do know we’re in for one hell of a ride.

Project Power debuts on Netflix August 14.
