Easter Just Got a Little Sweeter With the Early Release of ‘Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway’

Peter Rabbit

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway will be in cinemas in time for Easter with the release date of the endearing family film debuting earlier than expected.

Australian audiences will be able to catch up with Beatrix Potter’s lovable rogue rabbit from March 25 — even earlier than American moviegoers who will be able to view the film from May 14. The live-action iteration of the beloved children’s books was originally slated for a June 17 launch.

In the follow up to 2018’s box office hit, Peter, Bea, Thomas and the rabbits are back, having created a makeshift family. However, things aren’t exactly smooth sailing as Peter struggles to shake his mischievous reputation.

Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.

Will Gluck returns to direct Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, having co-written the script with Patrick Burleigh (The Wasp).

Australian actors Margot Robbie and Rose Byrne return for the sequel, with Robbie lending her voice to the character of narrator Flopsy, and Byrne appearing as Bea.
