Call your parents, call your grandparents and get your phone ready. Music legend Paul McCartney is taking his iconic and beloved songs on tour around Australia later this year, playing a run of shows throughout October and November.

The “Got to Get Back” tour marks the former Beatle’s first run of Australian shows since 2017, where he only played shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. While the latter has been forgone on his 2023 tour, he’ll still be playing Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, adding Adelaide, Newcastle, and Gold Coast to his itinerary.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney said in a press statement.

“Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”

The “Got to Get Back” tour launched in February last year, with the 81-year-old taking on a huge run of shows throughout North America and Europe. He’ll be kicking off the Australian leg in Adelaide, a city that holds a special place in the history of The Beatles.

In 1964, the Beatles’ first touched down in Adelaide to kick off the Australian leg of the first-ever world tour. An estimated 350,000 people took to the streets between the airport and Town Hall just to get a peep at Paul, John, Ringo, and George. This marked the band’s only tour of Australia.
