The Most Exciting Hotels Opening in Australia Next Year

If the new hotels opening in Australia in 2025 had a theme, it would be big brand names. Some of the world’s most well-known hotel brands are set to open their first Australian branches next year. They include Six Senses, which will open in the Dandenong Ranges, Mondrian, set to open in Burleigh, and Andaz and also on the Gold Coast.

Many of these new hotels have been years in the making and, excitingly, are finally almost here. This is our edit of the Australian hotels we’re most excited to see open next year.

Mondrian Gold Coast, Burleigh Beach, QLD

Hotel brand Mondrian has locations worldwide including Cannes, Doha and LA but Gold Coast will be its first in Australia. Mondrian Gold Coast on Burleigh Beach will welcome guests in 2025 to stay in its beach houses, suites and studios, lounge at its pool club or dine at one of two venues. The hotel will also house a spa.

1 Hotel Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC

1 Hotel is an international luxury hotel brand with an ethos of preserving the land and water surrounding it. 1 Hotel Melbourne in the Docklands will be its first Australian hotel. The hotel will comprise 280 suites, a wellness centre, lobby cocktail bar and several other dining venues. The interiors will feature native greenery.

Six Senses Burnham Beeches, Dandenong Ranges, VIC

Luxury resort accommodation Six Senses announced its first Australian property in 2022. Located in a heritage mansion on a 22-hectare estate in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, Six Senses Burnham Beeches is set to open mid-2025. The hotel will house 43 guest rooms, 39 glamping tents and several food and drink venues including a welcome lounge and terrace, a restaurant with outdoor seating and a library bar.

Hannah St Hotel, Melbourne, VIC

Hannah St Hotel is a boutique hotel set to open in Southbank in September 2025. The hotel will boast 188 rooms across 10 levels with the Queensbridge Building, a luxury apartment complex. Hotel guests will have access to the building’s perks including a gym and lap pool, rooftop bar and co-working space with podcasting rooms.

Voco Gosford, Central Coast, NSW

Sydneysiders keen for an easy seaside getaway will appreciate Voco Gosford, opening mid-2025. A cruisey hours’ drive from the CBD, the hotel will feature a sand colour palette, rooms with beach views and six venues so you won’t need to leave. Should you wish to, though, Central Coast’s many beaches and national parks are at your doorstep.

25Hours Hotel, Paddington, NSW

Paddington is home to some of Australia’s best designer boutiques and in early 2025, it’ll also house Australia’s first brand 25hours Hotel, part of the Accor portfolio. The boutique hotel on main drag Oxford Street will have 109 rooms, a rooftop bar and restaurant and a courtyard.

Andaz Gold Coast, Broadbeach, QLD

Andaz Gold Coast will open mid-2025 in The Star Gold Coast on Broadbeach Island. The resort will feature 202 rooms and suites, a fitness centre and three venues across floors six to 21 of a 65-storey tower. Guests can relax in cabanas at a beach club on the level six pool deck. The deck will also have a cocktail bar and al fresco dining restaurant.

The Sundays, Hamilton Island, QLD

The Sundays will be a boutique hotel in the Whitsundays, on the north end of Casteye Beach. It features 59 rooms, a beachside pool and a restaurant and bar by the water. If guests prefer to work up a sweat, they can play a game of pickleball on the hotel’s court or explore over 12kms of nature trails and beaches on the island.
