This Sydney-Based Agency Is Making Necklaces to Help Koalas

As bushfires continue to rage through Australia, one Sydney based social media agency decided to step in and do something to help. While The Friendly Bunch typically focuses on social media marketing and content creation, the business has a new effort on its hands — and it’s for a great cause.

Beginning back in November, The Friendly Bunch began making beaded necklaces to sell as an effort to raise money for bushfire relief. Volunteering their personal time to make the necklaces by hand, the team at the agency has been cranking out the cute jewellery and donating money along the way. With each $50 necklace sold, all the profits are being donated to WIRES Wildlife Rescue, Australian Red Cross, and NSW Rural Fire Service. Using the hashtag #kissesforkoalas, the brand is spreading the word across social media and doing its bit to help out.

“We can’t be there to help, but we’re not helpless,” the brand shared on its Instagram story, serving as a powerful reminder to anyone who can give a little that even a small donation towards bushfire relief can be a huge help to those in need. With four different styles to choose from, purchasing a necklace is as easy as sending a DM to @the_friendly_bunch on Instagram.

With cute colours, pukka shell adornments, and even bracelets made-to-order, this jewellery would be a worthy addition to any collection anyway. On top of the looks, though, the fact that these necklaces are making a difference in the community is reason enough to buy one.

As of December 17, the company had donated a total of $900 raised from their necklaces, and there’s no doubt that this number will continue to grow as word spreads. Cute necklaces for a good cause, what else could you want? If you know someone who has a birthday coming up soon, or simply want to help in some way send a direct message to The Friendly Bunch to find out how you can make a purchase.
