With international borders still firmly closed, Aussies are looking to their own backyards to achieve a sense of luxury and adventure. It’s hardly a compromise, especially when we consider the beautiful beaches, thriving cities, bush escapes and everything in between, all right on our doorsteps.

Planning a getaway is one thing, and no doubt un upcoming holiday gives us all something to look forward to. But in 2021, we’re making a case for the last-minute escape and embracing spontaneity as often as we can.

Luxury Escapes is renowned for its lavish packages, which, in many cases, includes flights, accommodation, meals and activities. But the holiday-makers have just today launched a new portal, ‘Last Minute Escapes’, designed to provide those with itchy feet a quick and affordable getaway on the spot.

Starting today, the Last Minute Escapes portal will drop up to 20 new deals across metropolitan and regional destinations each week. The deals are available for travellers to book and stay immediately — as in that very night — or for the next seven days that follow. If you see something you like, you can grab the deal for one or more nights and enjoy a city workation or pack your overnight bag in preparation for a weekend away.

The initiative was launched both to cater towards Aussie travellers, who are keen to get out and explore their backyards following the COVID pandemic but also to support local hotel and accommodation partners by driving more occupancy during midweek or off-peak times.

A last-minute holiday also means there are fewer chances of your plans changing, subject to out-of-control factors including sudden border closures or lockdowns.

“Our customers drive all our decision-making and we’re committed to move fast and innovate to deliver amazing travel experiences for them,” says Luxury Escapes Chief Marketing Officer Jason Shugg. “Last year we revealed that 88% of Australians are planning a domestic holiday this year, but sudden border closures and tightened restrictions make it tricky to plan far in advance.

“Last Minute Escapes provides a solution for this, creating another way for customers to find and book travel experiences in line with the rapidly changing travel environment we’re in.”

In line with Luxury Escape’s model, the Last Minute Escapes also come with fun, luxurious extras. These vary depending on the hotels but may include breakfast, wine on arrival, late checkouts, dining vouchers, cocktails, and complimentary upgrades.

In the first drop of exclusive escapes, you’ll find packages around Australia for The Fullerton Hotel Sydney, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel Sydney, Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Capri By Fraser Brisbane, Alex Hotel Perth, QT Canberra, and Barossa Shiraz Estate.

Head to Luxury Escape’s new Last Minute Escapes portal to grab your next lavish stay.
