Cleaning products that are both kind to people and to the planet are surprisingly hard to find. And so, husband and wife duo and parents to two boys, Jessica Bragdon and Paul Davidson, decided to create their own, launching Koala Eco in 2017.
“We did a lot of research and started working carefully with a local chemist and lab to create really special products,” Bragdon told green+simple.
Today, the range is now stocked in stores across Australia, as well as Hong Kong, China, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Macau. It includes multi-purpose kitchen cleaners, dish soaps, hand washes, glass cleaners, room sprays, laundry washes and other products across collections kitchen, all-rounders, laundry and bathroom, hand and body, and accessories.
Harnessing the natural antibacterial and therapeutic properties of native Australian plants, with aromatherapy-grade essential oils, the collections are all non-toxic and plant-based and beautifully capture the natural scents of Australia. Each pump or spritz will transport you to the Blue Gum Forest, Tea Tree farms in Queensland or bushland of northern New South Wales where the zesty-smelling lemon myrtle is found.
“Our labels are all hand illustrations from a botanical artist whose images represent the botanicals used in the product,” Bragdon told green+simple.
As for how Koala Eco is better for the planet, all bottles and their pumps are made with 100% recycled and recyclable materials, so no new plastic is created to house the products. Not only that but if you order Koala Eco online, your buys will be sent in recycled packaging and shipping materials. The company also donates to 1% for the Planet.
And now you can win $1000 worth of Koala Eco’s range to stock your cleaning cupboards and kitchen and bathroom sink. Simply tell us in 25 words or less: Which room do you most enjoy when it’s fresh and clean, and why?
