Say hello to your new at-home (or outside — we’re not judging) winter wardrobe because this week, Kmart dropped another version of its Oodie dupe.
If you’re not familiar with what an Oodie is, it’s essentially a wearable blanket. And while an official Oodie retails for about $109 and is by the brand with the same name, started by two Australian brothers, there are countless copycat versions — one of them being Kmart’s.
In 2021, the discount retailer released another version of it with a price tag of $29, but, unsurprisingly, the wearable blanket quickly disappeared from the racks. Now, with the temperatures dropping this is your sign to head to Kmart and grab one before they sell out.
Called the Pull Over Gown, the blanket comes in four styles, brightly coloured checkers (Bright Chk), a print of bears dressed in pajamas (Slpy Bears), leopard spots (Animal) and flowers (Ecru Flrl), with two sizes, S/M and L/XL.
While it’s no doubt less soft against your skin and a bit thinner than the original Oodie – which you’d expect, given it’s a fraction of the price – it still does the trick of keeping you warm your top-half warm and toasty.
It’s knee length, comes with long sleeves with ribbed cuffs and has a handy pocket at the front so you can store your phone or, you know, snacks.
As of right now, the wearable does seem to be available in-stores — you can check stock on the Kmart website — but you’ll want to act fast because if last time is anything to go by, it’s likely to sell out.
If you do miss out, though, might I suggest you consider investing in the real thing, an official Oodie? If you calculate cost per wear, honestly, it’s still a bargain. Here are three of our favourites.
