Darkseid Comes Face-to-Face with the Entire Justice League In Full-Length Trailer

Justice League

Director Zack Snyder has finally released the full trailer for his upcoming iteration of Justice League, giving audiences a glimpse at his four-hour DC Films superhero movie.

Back in June 2020, HBO Max offered a 30-second sneak peek of Snyder’s cut featuring Wonder Woman’s Gald Gadot coming face-to-face with a painting of supervillain Darkseid (Ray Porter).

Now, in the extended version, Darkseid comes face-to-face with the entire Justice League which includes an all-star cast of Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman, (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

Reprising his role as The Joker, Jared Leto is seen in the clip having a conversation with the masked crusader where he says: “We live in a society where honour is a distant memory. Isn’t that right, Batman?”

Back in May 2020, Warner Bros. announced that it had plans to release Snyder’s version of Justice League — a directors cut, which will be released on HBO Max (and hopefully Australian streaming platform BINGE at the same time) sometime in 2021.

In 2017, the director had to leave the original film mid-production due to an unthinkable family tragedy so Warner Bros. hired Joss Whedon to step in and help finish the project. However, when the movie hit theatres, it was clear Justice League had been made by two very different directors.

In a 2020 interview, Snyder said his take on Justice League “will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie”.

Ever since the film’s theatrical release, whispers of a secret Synder cut loomed in the deep, dark depths of the Hollywood graveyard but even the director had lost hope.

“I always thought it was a thing that in 20 years, maybe somebody would do a documentary and I could lend them the footage, little snippets of a cut no one has ever seen.”

Lucky for us, we have a four-hour superhero extravaganza to look forward to.
