Babe, Wake Up — Jordan Peele Is Releasing a Fourth Feature Film

Jordan Peele is in his ‘making excellent films’ era and we’re here for it.

In news that will excite plenty of movie buffs and fans alike, Universal Pictures has announced that an “Untitled Fourth Film Directed by Jordan Peele” will hit cinemas on 25 December, 2024. This feels like a long-lead Christmas miracle but we’ll absolutely take it! That gives you precisely 645 days to prepare from the time of writing.

Details about the project are light on (read: nonexistent) but it will no doubt have all the markings of a Jordan Peele production. In the past, he has cast some incredible talent including Daniel Kaluuya, LaKeith Stanfield, Lil Rel Howrey, Lupita Nyong’o, Allison Williams and Keke Palmer just to name a few. He was recently seen rubbing shoulders with the star of the hit TV series The Bear, Ayo Edebiri — could this be a sign she is set to feature in his new film? Let’s start manifesting.

After a cracking feature film debut in 2017 which saw Get Out garner critical and box office acclaim, Peele has continued to release hit after hit. If you weren’t already familiar with the filmmaker’s comedic genius in the sketch series Key & Peele, his name was firmly planted on the map following the success of Get Out. The horror film offered incisive commentary on race relations in America and earned him an Academy Award for Writing (Original Screenplay).

In 2019, there was no ‘sophomore slump’ when he released his second feature Us which made a staggering US$256.2 million globally. Quite a tidy follow-up tbqf. In 2022, he continued his prolific run with Nope, which secured another acclaimed title under his belt.

With such an impressive foray into the world of filmmaking, it would appear that everything Peele touches turns to box office gold. Babe, wake us up when it’s 25 December 25, 2024.
