IKEA Australia’s New Wall Artwork Doubles as Sonos Speakers

IKEA is known for its stylish furniture and homewares, while Sonos is known for its cutting-edge home sound systems. And now the two have once again teamed up to leverage both of their expertise, creating a picture frame that’s not only eye-catching in a room, but that’ll also play your favourite tunes.

The smart picture frame, which retails for $299, is part of the existing IKEA and Sonos collaboration range SYMFONISK, which already includes a bookshelf speaker and a lamp speaker.

The new frame can be hung on the wall or placed on the floor, and once connected to your phone or laptop via WiFi, can play high-quality sound. You can use it as the only sound source in a room, or have it connected with other products from the range or other Sonos products.

While the speakers come in white or black, customers can also choose between two additional interchangeable panel styles — Vinyl or Splash — each $25.

“The new WiFi picture frame speakers take the art of music to a whole new level,” says Helen Longford, IKEA Home Furnishing Business Leader. “You can now create different sound atmospheres in your home, elevating each space to reflect a mood. The interchangeable fronts make it easy to choose a style that suits your home, that matches your mood or fits with an occasion.”

A release on the new frame reads: “With a curious mindset, shared values and passion for great products, IKEA and Sonos will continue to challenge each other to find new solutions to enhance life at home through sound and music.”

The SYMFONISK picture frame WiFi speaker is available online and at IKEA Australia stores now.
