Important! Here’s How to Watch the 2022 Emmy Awards in Australia

Emmy nominations 2023

There’s nothing like a good award show. All those A-listers in the same place at the same time, dolled up to the nines, sipping champagne and celebrating the best of the industry (minus the snubs, of course. Sad!).

It’s been a few months since the Oscars, but thankfully, award season is a year-long event these days. Sure enough, the Emmy Awards — which celebrate the best in television each year — are now just weeks away.

Every year, the best of the small screen go head-to-head, and with this being the golden age of TV, it’s safe to say that the competition has never been more intense.

Leading the 2022 nominations is HBO’s Succession, which managed to rack up 25 nods. Following Succession, Apple TV’s beloved Ted Lasso and HBO’s The White Lotus followed, with 20 nominations each. HBO was the platform leading the charge, with a whopping 108 nominations across its shows, beating out Netflix’s 105 nods.

Also in the esteemed double-digit nods category are Hacks (17), Only Murders in the Building (17), Euphoria (16), Barry (14), Dopesick (14), Severance (14), Squid Game (14), Ozark (13), Stranger Things (13), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (12) and Pam & Tommy (10).

This year, the ceremony will return to its original form, held indoors and at full capacity. Notably, the Television Academy has yet to announce a host for the prestigious event, leading people to believe the event may not have one specific host, but rather, a slew of actors and other notable celebrities who will present the awards.

The winners of the 73rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on 13 September 13, 2022, so there’s just one question remaining: How can we tune in from Australia? Read on for all the details.

Unlike the Oscars, the Emmy Awards don’t air anywhere on free-to-air TV, but that doesn’t mean you can’t tune in live.

Rather, the 74th Annual Emmy Awards will air live on Foxtel Arena, and Foxtel On Demand, on Tuesday, September 13.

The event will kick off at 10am AEST, but if you’re at work and can’t tune in live, you can catch the encore screening at 8.30pm, also.

If you’re keen to get a look at all the glitz and glam, E! Live from the Red Carpet will be screened on Tuesday evening (ie, not live) at 8.30pm on E!
