What Time Will ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Volume 2 Drop in Australia?

stranger things season 4 volume 2 trailer

The wait is finally over. Or… is it?

Word on the street — aka living hell-site Twitter — is that Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 still hasn’t locked its final two episodes, which are set to drop on Netflix in *checks notes* two days.

Collider’s Editor-in-Chief, Steven Weintraub, tweeted that “the reason the last two episodes of #StrangerThings4 haven’t been seen by critics or anyone outside of @netflix
is they’re still finishing the [visual effects]”.

Weintraub continued: “I know they worked on episode [seven] of Volume 1 till the very last second. Will be the same on [episodes eight and nine]”.

Weintraub assured Stranger Things fans “before anyone gets nervous” that “literally every movie and series cuts it very close with [visual effects]”.

“I’m sure it will stream Friday,” he wrote, “but it wouldn’t surprise me if some shots get adjusted after it drops”.

In fact, in a sit-down interview with Variety earlier this week, Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer spoke about this very topic, saying that they’d “George Lucas’d” scenes before, which to translate, means that they went back and changed elements of the show after its initial release. The Duffers said that most of these changes were near-imperceptible tweaks to the special effects, but that they were likely going to go back and “George Lucas” Will’s birthday at some point, in order to fix a continuity error that arose in Season 4.

The brothers went on to say that they even went back and changed “some of the visual effects” on Volume 1 after it had already premiered on Netflix on May 27.

“It’s not, like, story, but you’re essentially patching in shots,” Ross said. “Netflix is — I don’t think they’ve ever allowed people to patch on opening week and even weekend. And we said, ‘Well, why not?’ And he said, ‘Well, it makes us nervous.’ And we’re like, ‘Well, maybe we try it this time.’ And it turned out fine.”

“I’m just glad we’ve turned ‘George Lucas’ into a verb,” he added.

It’s been a huge season of Stranger Things so far. We’ve met the new big bad, Vecna, found out a lot more about Eleven’s backstory, and re-discovered Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” in the process. Love that for all involved!

Since Stranger Things debuted in 2016, it has collected a whopping 31 Emmy nominations, and won six. Not to mention the huge multimillion-dollar empire that has spawned from the series, including comic books, interactive experiences, mobile games and more.

Here’s everything we know so far about Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2.
