Here’s How to Watch the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Reunion in Australia

Fresh Prince of Bel Air

If you’re waiting with bated breath to watch The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion in Australia, you don’t have to wait very long.

On Thursday, November 19, you’ll be able to switch on the brand new reunion special, along with every iconic episode of the original series, on streaming service Stan.

Featuring the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith, the special will also host the original cast including Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey Butler), Daphne Maxwell Reid (Vivian Banks), Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks) and recurring co-star DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Already filmed, the 30th anniversary Reunion Special will take place on the Banks Family lounge room set and will feature Smith sitting down to chat with former co-star Janet Hubert, who originated the role of Aunt Viv, for the first time in 27 years.

It will also feature music and dancing (fingers crossed for the Carlton dance) and a host of special surprise guests yet to be revealed.

Paying tribute to the series that made him a household name, there’s no doubt that Smith will honour co-star James Avery who played Philip Banks, who passed away in 2013.

To celebrate the anniversary and cast reunion, all 148 episodes of the original series will also be available to stream on Stan. We’re in.

The beloved series followed Will (Smith) as a teenager from inner-city Philadelphia who is sent to California to live with his wealthy relatives in the hopes that they will “straighten him out and teach him some good old-fashioned values.”

But once he arrives, Will quickly takes his place as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, shaking up the family dynamic and the entire town with his own unique flavour.

Back in September, it was announced that Smith had teamed up with Morgan Cooper for a new drama series, Bel-Air.

The concept is based on a viral YouTube trailer by Cooper, which was released in 2019 and looked at what would happen if Smith made The Fresh Prince today.

Bel-Air, a story of a kid from Philly whose life got turned upside-down… in 2019,” the caption for the trailer read.

The series is described as an hourlong dramatic retelling of the beloved ’90s sitcom that leans into the original premise of Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special premieres this Thursday only on Stan, the same day as the US – with every iconic episode of the original series also available to stream on Stan from Thursday, November 19.
