2020 has certainly been a challenging year, and sometimes we wish we could just magic it away. While that’s not actually possible, we’ve got the next best thing.
PlayStation has unveiled it’s newest Harry Potter game and hoo, boy — it looks amazing! If you don’t have a PS5, you’re probably going to want to buy one after this.
Hogwarts Legacy is a next-gen adventure game based on the Harry Potter series.
Set for release in 2021, the game is as an open-world role-playing game that takes players beyond Hogwarts to new and familiar locations, as they “live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.”
Players grow magical abilities by mastering spells, brewing potions and taming fantastic beasts — everything you’ve always wanted to do.
“Hogwarts Legacy is filled with immersive magic, putting players at the centre of their adventure to become the witch or wizard they choose to be,” a statement from Warner Bros said.
“They will grow their character’s abilities as they master powerful spells, hone combat skills and select companions to help them face off against deadly enemies. Players will also encounter missions and scenarios that will pose difficult choices and determine what they stand for.”
Players will have full control over their own experience in this “rich and deep world, full of action-packed magic, as well as a detailed, mysterious story to engage fans and gamers alike.”
“Hogwarts Legacy is so special because it allows players to immerse themselves in a new narrative that is filled with complex characters, and, of course, magic,” GM for Avalanche, the creators said.
