Hinge Wants You to Be the Bachelor and Give Out Roses on the App

For some, being on The Bachelor and handing out roses is a dream. To others, it’s a deadset nightmare.

As for us, we’d be quite happy to play the field and date 30 beautiful people at a time on a quest to find The One, but would rather eat powdered eggs for the rest of our lives than do it all on TV.

Now, with Hinge‘s latest feature, we’re finally afforded that opportunity. The dating app has dropped a fun new feature called ‘Roses’, that allows users to send a rose as a symbol of your heightened interest in someone.

“Roses are a new way to let someone know they caught your eye. When a like is not enough, send a Rose to instantly show them you’re excited to get to know them. Roses will be seen before likes, and they are twice as likely to lead to a date,” a press release from Hinge reads.

A second feature to drop in recent days from the app is called ‘Standouts’. It’s a new feed showcasing Prompts and Photo Prompts from users who meet each other’s preferences.

The new feed refreshes every day to show new Prompts and Photo Prompts curated specifically for users based on previous likes and comments sent.

When a user matches with someone via the Standouts feed, they can show their interest by sending over a Rose. Romantic, right?

Both new features are designed to double your chances of finding a connection on the app and going on a date, and both new features put the focus on personality, “so users can quickly find someone to have a great conversation with”.

With the new features, in addition to a fresh new look, Hinge is hoping to remove distractions and help daters focus on what matters most: “finding someone worth deleting the app for”.

The new features are available now on the Hinge app. Download now or update to start playing Bachelor in your own time.
