After a dramatic and nail-biting final and 47 days in the harsh Aussie outback, the winner of Australian Survivor: Brains vs Brawn has been crowned.
Hayley took home the title, after playing a calculated game, one that made her stand out from the rest.
Contestants came and went on the gripping show, but the final three that remained fought it out till the very end.
Brains Hayley and George Mladenov and Brawn Flick Palmateer battled against one another, as they each aimed to win the $500,000 prize.
During the season, Flick faced an unimaginable tragedy after she lost her mother while filming the show – a loss that made the appearance of the remaining castaway’s families even more emotional.
She bravely decided to continue, and despite not winning, she’s gained the respect of so many around the country.
The three castaways took part in a torturous final immunity challenge, with pain researcher Hayley proving yet again that she was able to push through unimaginable discomfort.
After a difficult tribal council, it was up to Hayley to decide who she wanted to take with her to the final two, ultimately choosing George as less of a threat given how many bridges he had burned with members of the jury.
Devastated but accepting, Flick handed back her torch and it was then up to George and Hayley to plead their cases as to why they deserved to be crowned Sole Survivor and the recipient of $500,000.
The jury fired away tough questions for both George and Hayley, praising both of them for games well played. Hayley argued that she had played the most well-rounded game and had excelled both physically and strategically, while George cited his flawless ability to manipulate the game in his favour.
Finally, after the final vote was cast, it was Hayley who was named Sole Survivor for Australian Survivor: Brains vs Brawn 2021.
