Harry and Meghan are venturing into the world of podcasts with the couple announcing their new Archewell Audio project in a trailer released by Spotify.
The podcast will showcase the pair’s “passion for meeting people and hearing their stories” and aim to “bring forward different perspectives and voices that perhaps you haven’t heard before”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex explain in the trailer that they will try to find “common ground” in a year that has brought immeasurable pain to so many, including Meghan herself who wrote earlier in the year of the devastating miscarriage she suffered.
In a statement, the couple said: “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction. With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
The multi-year deal with Spotify has been executed in addition to the couples AU$177 million deal with streaming giant Netflix as the Duke and Duchess carve out their own path away from the Royal Family.
A standalone episode of the podcast will be available later in December with the full series to launch sometime in 2021.
