Prepare for a truly spectacular showdown between the mythical adversaries Godzilla and King Kong as they face each other in an epic battle for the ages.
The first extended trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong has been released and it is evident that we are in for some relentlessly exciting action as the two legends collide.
The monster movie mashup comes from Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment and is directed by Adam Wingard.
The official synopsis for the film explains: “With the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.”
Godzilla vs. Kong, which will be released in theatres on March 25, 2021, takes place after the events of Skull Island and King of the Monsters and stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler and Demián Bichir.
The last time fans of the two monsters saw them take each other on in battle was in 1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla where Kong won and, from the looks of the new trailer, the giant ape has been working on his moves to rival those of Michael B. Jordan in Creed.
Suffice to say, when the duo hit our screens once more for their battle royale, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will reign supreme.
