Opening in mid-2020 was never going to be an easy task for any business, let alone one that relies on people actually being in the CBD and looking for a meal. Gimlet at Cavendish House, from Melbourne restauranteur Andrew McConnell, did just that, opening in July 2020 in the historic Cavendish House on Russell Street.
Despite the trials and tribulations of the past two years, Gimlet has thrived. So much so that Gimlet has just been named in 84th position on the annual list by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy.
The 51 to 100 positions have been revealed ahead of the annual awards ceremony that will take place in London on Monday 18 July. Victorian restaurants Attica, and Brae were not listed in the initial list this year as they were last year.
